“The project is an inquiry into the social and psychological effects of the shifting economic fortunes of Central Queensland. In recent decades, industry has transformed regional Queensland, but commerce changes lives as well as shaping the economy. Much has been made of the area’s commercial productivity, but less attention has been paid to its impact on life in these communities. Changes brought about by the boom have altered long existing communities in many ways, providing new jobs and lifestyles for some, but displacing others.” – Dr Ray Cook
